Does anyone use the personal speed limit settings option in the instrument cluster, as I’m unsure of how the set limits actually work?

Vehicle > Limits > Limit 1 or Limit 2

For example, if you set, say, 35 mph for Limit 1, and 75 mph for Limit 2, does this mean that the warning message will display and warning signal will sound when the car exceeds 35 mph, and again if you continue to accelerate to exceed 75 mph?

Hi

I use these and have them around 10mph apart at higher speeds:75 & 85. The limit triggers at the set point. If you are around town limit 1 would be fine if below 35, however if you were mostly on motorway limit 1 would stay permanently on.

I have just limit 1 set at 75mph.

If I am worried about town speed limit infringement I tend to use ACC as it is quicker to change speed for the many and regular varying limits

Many thanks, guys.....the above info is most useful, so I think I’ll just set Limit 1 at 75 mph, and not worry about Limit 2.

Why not pay attention to the speedo? Your speed is in large numbers on the dash right in front of you. To need a warning of excess speed suggests you're not concentrating on the driving task. Given that it is probably the most dangerous thing you do, isn't it worth a bit more focus?

^^^^ Actually, I do pay attention to my speedo, however, this warning could be useful for the odd occasions where you may exceed the speed limit.

If you are looking at the speedo you are not looking at the road and on a post 2019 S with gearing at roughly 40 mph per 100 at 70 and practically no engine niose, it is very ease with slight change in gradient for the car to shoot up in speed

Whatever the speed limit warning is set to it “bongs” once and a warning flashes up. If you simply hit the back arrow on the steering wheel the warning goes away, irrespective of whether or not you reduce speed.

Rather concentrate on the road and other traffic around you I think ... a small beep to keep the reigns is a very handy aid I think 🤔
