Hi - have taken delivery of new facelift model 2 weeks ago. It has 2 usb c slots but no Sim or SD card slots, even though these are mentioned in the standard features on the configurator. Dealer seems to palm me off saying that’s how they do it now, bur I’m not so sure. Is it a chip issue?

Hi. As I understand it there should be a SIM and SD slot in the centre arm rest at the front. If not I would check that its on the order form ( as a standard item ) then go back and show it to the OPC.

Well, that's how it was on Gen 2.

In which country did you buy your Macan, Eddoris, as UK spec Gen 2 cars definitely have the SIM & SD card slots, as shown in Neil1911’s photo.

That’s the connectivity list as it stands today. So should have a slot for a SIM card and a mix of usb/usb c. SD cards have become a thing of the past. Personally I haven’t used an SD card in years, but each to their own.

Are you certain that reference to sim card reader is not just to slot that contains the Vodafone sim that comes with the car as part of Porsche Connect

Can you see that the sim is installed by looking at options on the screen or can you see an icon which shows the connectivity? If you didn’t have a sim installed somewhere in the car then technically the apps or other things that rely on an internet connection wouldn’t work I guess.

^^^ It's a bit outside my comfort zone but I'm sure that there is a built in SIM and the slot which allows an additional (alternative?) SIM to be used. Don't knock the SD card, BanZ, it turns the car into a veritable jukebox, no phone needed.
