I've assumed, as with previous vehicles I've owned, the default setting is "ON" so when I turn the ignition the green A/S/S light illuminates briefly and off you go, but if you want to disable it, you simply press the A/S/S button on the centre console. However, I'm not getting the green light upon start up, nor the yellow one when I press the deactivate button (that's a little intermittent, sometimes it appears, sometimes doesn't) and, no surprise, the car isn't stopping when the it comes to a halt. I've checked we're not running anything that might cause it not to work, e.g. sports mode, etc.., and the battery is fully charged too, so I'm at a loss as to what it could be.
Is this a known issue? Is there a setting hidden in the menu I've not found? I've searched on-line and couldn't find anything so at the moment it all points to a trip to the local dealer as it's under warranty, but I thought I'd check in here first to see if it's anything obvious/stupid (!) that I'm doing wrong.

I also found that, that mine didn't work for most of the time, because of the gentleness of the application. But after having my battery checked over, at a battery specialist. They advised that it was OK, but one of the cells may be a little sluggish. And advised that I used my battery conditioner, overnight for a week or so. But no warning lights came on to show the battery was suspect.
After doing this, found my battery was showing better voltage, and the stop/start mechanism was kicking in much more often, than it had been. That could be worth a try.

Slight deviation but my Q3 has stop start and two cylinder mode.
Both worked sort of, or as I was used to, until the car had its big spark plugs and cam belt service in September.
Since then they have been very active and tbh very really impressive. In fact that car drives so well it will be shame to see it go.
It will run on two cylinders far more frequently and turns off all the time when stopped and starts up immediately.
I wondered if they had updated the software as it bloody brilliant now?

Whilst the battery is showing 14.7v in charging mode I'm going to check it anyway to see if there's a dodgy cell. If not, it seems the A/S/S is faulty and will be going back to the dealer to sort it out.

If you have a CTEK charger, or similar, try charging the battery until that charger shows a full charge. Even then stop/start will not work as soon as you've started the car because of the power used in the start process but, on a run, it should cut in fairly soon after.

Reading this thread, Macan batteries appear a little ‘delicate’ , I’ve never had to worry about the state of battery charge in any of my Q5’s I had.
Will have to try and squeeze a Porsche battery charger out of Reading when I finalise payment for my S.

Don't worry. I've never had a battery problem with either of my Macans. Even during lockdown periods with little or no use for prolonged periods. Stop-Start works more often on my GTS than the SD.

Mine's been less active during lockdown, i assume due to battery not being charged for a month at times.
I've got another car where some functions don't quite work at lower voltage, headlights don't pop up or sometimes there's enough power to turn the engine over but not enough left to get a decent spark

Funnily enough, at 95Ah the Macan battery is one of the more robust ones. It will take a lot of hammering before it fails to start the car. IMO, Porsche are not that enthusiastic about stop start and that and coasting are the first functions to be disabled.

The start stop on my mini is 100%, even from cold. The start stop on my son’s MX5 hardly ever works. So it would seem not all start stop systems are created equal for sure.
