mark-yorkshire wrote: Tue Dec 07, 2021 4:57 pm Just looked at the gen 3 Macan 2.0 for sale with Porsche Edinburgh which states that it has a CO2 of 199g km and the car has a pan roof. It’s very odd that on the configurator the combined CO2 for the model is 228g . I will ask my dealer for the WLTP CO2 for my car when it arrives. It would be nice if most 2.0 Macans came in at under 226g/km with or without pan roof
Would wheel size be the point of difference here?
Actually just double checked the registration number of the Edinburgh 2.0 Macan and DVLA have it listed for VED as 228g/km.

My log book shows 225gms/km so giving me the saving in 1st year road tax. Each option has a gms/km figure to add to the basic spec. The base spec will have set the starting point having been wltp tested. I understand the option info is available to the dealer. The gen 3 base engine will carry a different (lower) rating than previous models as well. All these factors and wheel size and tyre spec will effect final figure for tax purposes.

Which wheels and other options do you have. You were lucky to sneak in just under 226g/km.

Spec is base + large tank (extra gms)+ privacy no gms+ spare wheel extra gms + rear camera no gms all adding up to 225gms/km. Anything adding to car weight will have additional gms impact such as pano, larger wheels, seats with additional electric motors, larger speakers, tow bars, additional suspension fitments for example. Hope this helps?

That’s interesting. Which document have you been given that lists the extra gms/km ? Is it the Certificate of Conformity?

The bigger wheels will be falling foul of extra drag from the wider widths, rather than weight differences (there's not a huge difference between them overall). The spare wheel, jack etc must weight a good 15Kg if not 20Kg,

Neither are comparable to the extra weight of a pano roof, but certainly something to be wary of if you are worried about the VED band

I'm in the process of ordering a S model and pretty basic spec with Pan roof, mainly because I like the black contrast against the white paint. But a 2k combined saving on VED and not having the pan roof can't be ignored, so I asked the dealer about this and his repose is- ''The panoramic roof does save some weight and will reduce the first year road fund licence from £2245.00 to £1910.00. The subsequent years are the same''

These figures don't correlate to what has been mentioned on here of £1600 ish for VED, am I missing something?

Huh!? Everything I’ve read previously says that the pano roof ADDS weight!?

I’d question the product knowledge of that salesperson.

P.S. Tax saving mentioned previously was £600 and not £1,600. ;)

Looking on the configurator it looks as though most Base and S Macans will fall into the range where the first VED will be £1,910 but it does look as though base cars without larger wheels and a pano roof just sneak in below 226g/km. Some S models might potentially go into the next bracket.
