The Government here in Portugal, is at present giving drivers up to a 5euro voucher towards the cost of filling up every month. But is going to increase this to 20 this month, due to its speedy rise.
Now I wonder, if the UK Government might do something similar?

The International Energy Agency, you know NOT the MAIL, had put forward suggestions to reduce fuel. There are 10 points suggested, which I won’t go through. But includes banning cars in Cities on Sundays.
They’re on the IEA’s site.

I was driving on the M6/M42 yesterday and saw gantry signs for “60 to avoid emissions” or something. Saves fuel too. Sadly I had to comply too 🤦‍♀️

That’s also on a section of the M1, between J33 and J34. It’s been so for a year or more now, showing for emission control.

How does that work in an electric car then? Also if it is on the brink of a gear change into top then 70 or 80 might actually be less harmful. Sounds like a rule put in place by road planning cyclists to me

I didn’t know cyclist were allowed on Motorways. At least not on Yorkshire.
I often wondered that in relation to the, CONGESTION charge in London.
Would driving an EV, cause any less congestion than any other saloon car?
I think the days of totally enjoying driving, as they once were, are slowly being eroded away.
One of the slogans of car ownership, back in the days of the beginning of cars, was freedom. But sadly not now.

The "congestion" charge has nothing to do with congestion, it's merely another way of extracting money from motorists.
