I have a non OEM battery in my GTS as I believe Cazoo changed it before I bought it in November. I had the 111 point check and they said I need to change the battery before they’ll give me warranty and quoted £630! So, the question is, has anyone bought an OEM battery elsewhere? I believe they are made by Moll, so I emailed them and have not had a response. Probably a closed shop and OPC only.
Thanks

I would contact Cazoo and tactfully suggest they pay for an official Porsche approved battery.
They must know that fitting non approved parts invalidates a Porsche warranty or precludes an extended warranty being issued.
In effect they have not supplied a Porsche in full, only 99% of one.

Way back in 2015, Varta batteries were being fitted at build to Macans. I had one in my SD. It was 105Ah whereas I think the current batteries are 95Ah.

I have a VW branded one in mine - fitted by previous owner. No record in the service receipts but i would imagine either a Porsche specialist or a main dealer put it in as it would need coding. I'm pretty sure it has Porsche part number on it as well as the VW one.
You may be able to get the Porsche battery from somewhere like Design911, but will still need coding (and maybe filling with acid too). LLLParts might be able to supply also
By the time you pay to get it coded I doubt you'll save much; probably best to call a few OPCs and compare prices

Why do you think Cazoo will pay for a Porsche battery - if the car wasn't under Porsche warranty at the time then they fitted a perfectly good battery of the correct rating. They are not obliged to make it suitable for Porsche warranty application, a lot of buyers may not even be aware of the extended warranty; not everyone scans the forums for adviceCol Lamb wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 11:43 pm I would contact Cazoo and tactfully suggest they pay for an official Porsche approved battery.

I agree, they fitted a good quality battery, just not a OEM battery.Percymon wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 9:30 amWhy do you think Cazoo will pay for a Porsche battery - if the car wasn't under Porsche warranty at the time then they fitted a perfectly good battery of the correct rating. Would it be better to buy a different warranty (other than Porsche) as there are a few out there that are pretty comprehensive? It’s just that you might save on the ridiculous stipulations that Porsche require just to simply make money on parts - tyres, batteries etc.

Not now, I already changed my N1 tyres because they didn't comply and I had to have it serviced again as the last one was by a specialist, I'm not going back now.Jon A wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 9:59 am Would it be better to buy a different warranty (other than Porsche) as there are a few out there that are pretty comprehensive? Try sourcing it via a specialist they must be cheaper than OPCKleynie wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 10:07 amNot now, I already changed my N1 tyres because they didn't comply and I had to have it serviced again as the last one was by a specialist, I'm not going back now.Jon A wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 9:59 am Would it be better to buy a different warranty (other than Porsche) as there are a few out there that are pretty comprehensive?
