Years ago I had a loan 911 or Cayman which had the heated steering wheel turned on when I drove off. It took ages to find how to turn it off   and by that time it was really hot

On my Gen 2 it gets too hot after a couple minutes. The London burbs don’t see really cold temps and I’ve maybe used it 2-3 times in two years ownership. I’ve accidentally switched it on quite a few times though.

On my Gen 1.5 Macan the heated steering wheel gets quite hot if you leave it on for some time, after a couple on mins it is cozy.

Maybe leave it until proper winter temperatures and really cold hands when you get into the car. I think you may find it’s fine then. It warms up quickly but then is regulated by its thermostat to be a comfortable warmth in the ten to two position on the wheel. It takes a little while for heat to soak into other positions on the wheel I find.

Used mine both journeys over the weekend - love the heated wheel.

Dumb question but are you holding the wheel in the correct place? Mine gets too hot to hold on the bottom sections, but is perfect where you're supposed to put your hands.

Does it require turning off manually or does it time out like for example a heated rear screen, or seats etc?

Plyphon,

To solve your problem you could always turn your steering wheel so the bottom is at the top!!! That way your hands will be warmer! ;) ;) ;)

Just mind how you go...............................

The heated steering wheel on my 2019 S is quite toasty. Hot enough that I turn it off after a short time.
