Got my 911 through its MOT yesterday (nearly 6 years old).

Had to get them to replace the windscreen washer hose (again).

Under advisories, they mentioned perishing tyres.

Any views?

Still plenty of tread left on them. Probably doesn’t help that the car lives outside. 🤔

How old are the tyres Simon? Exposure to strong sunlight doesn’t help but premature perishing might be worth enquiring via a Michelin dealer.

My trusty Freelander failed its MoT last month because of perished tyres. The tyres were Avon and were 4 years old.

My Navara passed numerous MoTs with slight cracking on the shoulders of the Goodyear A/Ts. I eventually changed them recently at 12 years old purely on the basis of age.

You appear to do more mileage than average so I would have thought you could carry on without worrying. Just have them checked by the likes of ATS every 4 months. I'm sure they will upsell you in due course 🤔

Can we have pictures of the tyres? My (low mileage) Tiguan tyres all cracked (particularly between the treads) after 3 years and had to be replaced.

I'm sure Porsche would have recommending that you change them if any doubt about safety. I have had a new tyre recommendation when tread is over 3mm remaining.

I would normally change tyres at 10 years old. (my car tyres are generally changed every 3 years due to wear)

If I’m reading correctly, rears are Week 20 in 2022, fronts are Week 35 in 2019.

I think I may have a very slow puncture in the front left, so I might look to replace the front tyres.

Black Circles quoting £537.02 fully fitted for two fronts. Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S N0.
