Counting down the sleeps until the big day on Friday when we collect. I emailed the insurance over today and I asked if I could order a 18" collapsible spare wheel and a G2+G3 child seat. I received an email back saying the 18" spare wheel was a cost of £850+VAT (configure price £155inc VAT). I have had my leg lifted on the smoker pack and sport design mirrors but I am struggling to see how this can be allowed... If I charged one of my customers £1020 for something that cost £155 (which included a profit) I would be on watch dog, Rouge Traders or something like that.... I will have to hope the can of goo doesn't see light of day. Just out of interest does anybody know if you can buy the collapsible 18's anywhere on the net?

I was quoted £580, sure you heard £850? Even so, a hefty price, ordered it anyway, get it next Monday but it has to be dealer fitted??? Not on my 8 month old car, bought this week. Apparently many cars not ordered with it, owners will rely on Porsche breakdown service who carry them if a wheel has to come off and follow you to a nearby tyre supplier and wait for their spare back, (even at 3am???) However I prefer to have my own even though I would still call out roadside assistance to change a wheel, but then I can drive on to whetever suits me best.

It's a pisstake to charge that when you haven't even taken delivery of the car yet... unless the fitment of the wheel requires some extra bracketing or braces to stow it safely... in which case there's a labour cost.
My first Macan didn't have the wheel, and I can't recall ever seeing anything in there to store it. Not that I looked very often.

The storage space without the wheel looks too small indeed for a spare so they might have to change the whole plastic structure (or cut ) hence the hefty price.

Much prior forum comment on this topic - even if you don't want/need to carry the spare worth speccing and then removing "just in case". Huge post delivery surcharge probably down to fitting labour charge (inc order/delivery/unpacking etc!)

Not that it is any consolation but Mazda charged me £350 for a space saver wheel when I bought our CX3; there wasn't even an option to have it as a factory fit. However, there were different bits of plastic inserts, a jack, a new load cover etc as part of the kit. Still expensive though for a £20k car....
