Morning chaps

I wonder if any of you non-luddite bods can help me.
Just got my shiny new stealth mobile with new PCM. Now I've connected my iPod through the usb in the centre arm rest and it recognises it, happy days.
Now when I scroll through I just see a list of songs, no way to choose albums, artists etc. The new manual with the PCM says I should be able to do this.

I can't control the iPod (classic 160gb) while it's plugged in, it's all controlled by the PCM. I don't know whether I should set the iPod to albums or artists before I plug in, or if I'm missing something on the PCM, I've never had a Porsche previously so I'm on a steep learning curve with the controls and menus.

I realise it's the new PCM but I can't imagine Porsche have changed the menus too much as most of you must know them inside out by now. Any suggestions gratefully received.

BigPhil.

No direct experience, but I understand that the PCM can do iPod or CarPlay mode. Obviously with an iPod it's just iPod mode. Maybe the funky features you describe are only CarPlay?

I'd quite like to know too :)

I used my iPod with one of the models that I test drove last year and found albums/artists just by scrolling through the menus. My Macan is many moons away so I can't go look, but I do recall that it didn't take too much menu browsing to find it, which ticked a box for me at the time. It definitely works though...

Seems like a lack of effective handover, l would ring the OPC and go back and get them to show you in detail how the systems work.

There was another post a few days ago where another group member was having trouble with the pcm system at pick up, so it may be related and it needs rebooting/reinstalling

Big Phil, my iPod shows all it's menus on the PCM screen. It is connected via Bluetooth, is yours? Could that be the issue?

Reckon you might be right there. My iPod is an old Classic 160gb so no bluetooth. I plug it in through the usb in the centre armrest. I can see there's loads of funky bluetooth connections on the screen, my iPhone set up in seconds and is brilliant.

On the 'good to know' app it mentions plugging it in though and then all the features, I'm wondering whether there's something with the iPod it doesn't like. In Apple years it's ancient, 2014!

To be fair, he showed me everything else and paired up my phone for me. With hindsight I should've took the iPod in and asked him to set that up tooEmbarrassed, but in all the excitement I just wanted to get out and drive the thing!!Wink

True Phil

My own handover took no time at all, choosing what so called freebies took longer and we ended up with a set of mugs.

Lucky you! I think I exceeded the generosity of Porsche when I insisted on a freebie cool box before I handed over the deposit. Two keyrings and they never even bothered throwing the unveiling cover on it!

I was quite looking forward to a framed photo of me grinning next to it that I could stick on the telly to amuse Mrs PhilTongue

I have an iPod Classic also and it worked fine on last year's PCM via the cable connection.
