When I hear a whine it's usually from the passenger seat ;-)

Nick - Sorry for the late response. I can't find anything about a whine. It's going in for the winter wheel and tyre swap and I have asked them to have a look (listen) at it. It's intermittent but irritating once you know what to listen out for.

Brake squeal is apparent on an intermittent basis.

This sounds like the issue I have. Creaking started today from the same position.

I bought some Kryotex from eBay and lube the guides periodically-that has cured the problem.

Which bits need lubricating. A diagram/photo would be much appreciated..

When you open bonnet you will see black plastic guides and a wedge shaped piece of plastic on side of wing (circled). If you look in corner of bonnet you will see a corresponding wedge and a plastic fork shaped guide which fits and makes contact with the plastic pieces on the wing. These surfaces touch one another when the bonnet closes so the 'mating' surfaces need the lubricant on occasion. Hope that makes sense?

Thanks. That makes sense. Just found a very long thread on this topic in the US Macan forum. Cannot believe that Porsche have not sorted this issue although have to say my 2014 and 2015 Macans were creak free . I guess if the bonnet is just slightly out of alignment then the creaking will begin.
