we salute you!
and the mother-ship has bequeathed a nice new track app to improve yourselves.

Presumably that's the one that's been around for a while on 911 GT3 RS, Cayman GT4 etc.

Unlikely the Macan will have magically sprouted the additional hardware to support it....
... well unless it was there all along.

yes, not sure of the macan compatibility, it says :
1 The new Porsche Track Precision app is available for all Boxster, Cayman and 911 models, as well as for all GT cars with model improvements from CW45/16. The Porsche Communication Management (PCM) version 4.0, as well as the equipment options Connect Plus and Sport Chrono Package are required to use the app.

so pcm 4.0 : check, chrono:check, connect plus:check .. just need to see if a GTS is classified as a GT .. (or just go out the the car and see if it connects)

however, there are plenty on this forum with compatible cars, so a little heads up for those that can.

just been out to the car to test, and it all connects fine, but i am not sure if it will work yet, as no track near by (and dont have time to "make my own" that seems to be an option)

I think if it (the Macan GTS) had that capability, the track precision app would have worked all along.

If you've got an iPhone, download it from here:

(I tried it with my Macan Turbo last year and no, it doesn't work).

Edit:

http://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesandservice/tequipment/motorsport/trackprecisionapp/

"For Cayman GT4 (type 981), 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 RS (1st generation type 991)."

A Porsche GTS is a GT in the same way a BMW 330d M Sport is an M3 (ie. it isn't).

With luck, this new "Connect" Track App is a simpler version that does work with more cars.

I think a key point of the original Track App is that it receives broadcast live telemetry from the car, something that a normal car with Sport Chrono does not do.

Fingers crossed for you!

Had a quick fiddle on a drive out just now. Seems to have a problem with the "status vehicle connection" keeps cycling between ok and not connected. So either I need a pcm update, or you are correct that something else is missing :(DougalDC2017-03-24 16:24:11

Would be cool if it does start working... but Porsche are so poor with their car tech rollouts, getting a consistent and accurate message across - to dealers and customers - that we'll be on the MY21 Macan Pixie Dust II before it starts working properly!
