This thread has been a good read....

Ok, just to clarify please. I have opted for SC in a diesel. To activate LC:

Press sport+ button.
Select 'D'.
L foot hard on foot brake.
Hand brake off.
Press accelerator pedal quickly to kick down point.
Revs build, then plateau.
'Launch control activated' message in binnacle.
Release foot brake.

Correct?

This is correct. Though D and SportPlus don't have to be in that order. Just needs to be in that state.
I think handbrake isn't important, though I always turn it off anyway.
Key is quick/hard on brake, then quick to kickdown on throttle, otherwise the message doesn't appear.

Another point is that it's disabled if you have a certain amount of steering angle. I mention it because someone a while back said they do LC at T junctions and that just can't happen.

I agree with Goron on this, I Launched an SD at PEC, and the "launch control activated" message came up,

all I did was set Sport+, hard press brake, hard full throttle, MFD then displays "launch control activated", release brake, and wooooosh!

I've only used it once, on a deserted industrial estate at 6 on a Sunday morning. I can confirm, if it's proper launch control you'll see 'launch control activated'. And there's no way I could control that in anything but a straight line, I was basically hanging on for dear life. LOL

Phil.........PSM on or off?

I didn't deactivate it, I just pressed Sport+ so I can only assume it was on. There was no wheel spin so I'm assuming there was traction control on. it was just brutally quick off the line, quicker than I imagined a SD could be, it may not add much to the 0-60 but 0-20 was 'pinned to the seat and hold on to the steering wheel' quickBig smile

PSM stays on. I suppose it's possible for Sport Plus to be on for throttle map with PSM off, but yea, PSM stays on.

SportPlus allows quite a bit of yaw though - it's well giggles.
