Engineers design,
customers use. Sometimes both worlds do not match.

Issues/improvements have already been highlighted
in many threads but I thought it would be great to get everything in one place
to provide a
constructive feedback to Porsche (as I am
sure they are monitoring this forum Wink) about what they should/could
"improve/fix/forget about" in the next Macan generation.

As I have my new toy for less than 2
weeks, I will leave the senior members to provide the main points but I would
like to start with:

-
Parking aid:
Mirror glass on the passenger's side
swivels down to show the kerb area (Left) - Driver's side should also swivel
down to show the kerb area (right). Useless feature when the parking space is on the right side.

-
Audio
: Volume control on the steering wheel
is inactive when key is in Initial position (0) while the PCM volume button is active.

- Exterior mirrors:
Folding from outside (key or Car connect App) = Out automatically at Ignition but
folding from inside (door button) = will not out automatically and need to
press door button again - should be consistent.

- Panoramic roof sun blind: should NOT move forward by few centimetres
each time the key is uses to fold the exterior mirrors.

Bigger sunvisors that actually fill the hole. Boot that closes using the key fob. Steering wheel buttons (some) active when car play is activated.

Apart from those wee niggles, they're really rather good.

Re Parking - in Germany they are very strict on not parking against the flow of traffic - I got fined for it once! Perhaps this mirror set up is therefore deliberate. I do find it annoying with a RHD car here though.
Re mirrors - if you manually retract them to park in a tight garage, the last thing you want is for them to extend automatically when you start the engine. I therefore think it's fine as it is.

The damn keyfob.

Tailgate release is all too easy to press for my arthritic hands instead of pressing lock.

The more often buttons on the centre console, such as sport and sport plus are not flipped to the other side on a right hand drive car, meaning you have to reach over everything to press them. Would be best being sited somewhere around the steering wheel, as the 911.

All doors to unlock when you take the key out of the ignition unless I am missing something

Mirrors to fold when you click once to lock the car

I am a big fan of the 2.0 engine and would always choose it over the 3.0 but another 50 bhp would be nice escpecially when it exists elsewhere in the VAG lineup
