Currently driving north on M6 or should I say letting my good lady drive. So it gives me time to play a bit more with the buttons Happened to place palm on the main display screen and very surprised how warm it is, is this normal? I would have thought it would be a low power LCD and therefore cool.

Not tried that, mind you it would not surprize me as the tech in the Macan is not exactly cutting edge.
The LCD screen resolution itself is only about 800x600 pixels so hardly up with iPads or Samsungs.
Ps
Give us a wave as you pass through central Lancashire.

800x480 actually. Which is fine considering you're not supposed to be reading tiny 10pt text on it.Col Lamb wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2017 9:49 am Not tried that, mind you it would not surprize me as the tech in the Macan is not exactly cutting edge.

It does get warm yes, but not because of the display, but because of what's behind it.

Its not fine it sucks, the resolution is less than PAL DVD which the PCM is supposed to be able to play.
A Samsung Tab of 2010 had a greater resolution than our PCM screens

This is one of the first things we noticed when we picked up our GTS last September.
The "new" style PCM screen does feel much much hotter to the touch than previously. Took it back to the dealership who were a bit non-committal but said it was probably OK. Its worked fine so I guess it's just the way it is.
We watched a DVD in the tunnel last weekend and the screen didn't seem quite so hot; maybe it's the nav bit that creates the heat?

So effectively 720x288 and the that's designed for 4:3 ratios.
Not exactly comparable.
I get you hate it but no need to spread FUD

This is the first explanation I found: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=FUD
I think there must be another definition

One of the problems is it's a black which when the sun is on it gets hot even if it's off.
I was in the garden With the iPad and the sun was on it for a bit and when I went to use it I got an emergency warning too hot which i have never seen.
Touched the screen and it was burning hot.
I was using it for only a couple of minutes. Black attracts the sun. It's as simple as that I'm afraid.
