Hi, does anyone know if you can switch off the horseshoe comfort light or else dim it further? I find it quite distracting when driving.

Also, is there any way of switching off the day time running lights so you can have the ignition on without any external lights coming on? I went to a drive in movie this evening and it was annoying to keep having the lights come on when putting the ignition on briefly to allow the wipers to work. I checked the "good to know" app but couldn't find any clue........

Thanks

Andy

From memory the horseshoe light can be dimmed or switched off by holding the button in the overhead console for a few seconds. I generally have it turned off. Not sure if you can switch off the DRLs though.

Horseshoe light is off by default when driving. One of the lighting buttons turns it on and off and holding it makes it dim or brighten. From memory, it's either the one that looks like a sunrise, next to the parking sensor button, or the one in the middle section that also looks like a sunrise.

:? are you sure off is default goron and not a memory function?

Mine seems to be in various states of illumination even if I don't touch it and low diming is always difficult to achieve

Not sure, no. But I've never had to turn it off on all the half dozen or so Macans I've driven.

It's like all cars. Lights go off when you close doors and drive away. Unless you turn them on.

I thought the horseshoe light was an ambience light so could be set independent of the entry exit criteria. I'll take action to read the manual clearly not obvious, at least to me.

Don't the exterior light turn off by switching the light switch (by the key) from Auto to Off?

Yes, it can be set independently. It's one of the buttons I mentioned above.

Thanks for the tips on the horseshoe light - will try to adjust this later. With regards to the DRLs it seems that they come on as soon as the ignition key is turned even if the light switch is turned to off. Can't see a way around this currently.......
