You are of course assuming that your other gauge and technique measuring the pressures is the gold standard. It might be, but you are making that assumption.

Goron's measurement and observation has not made such an 'assumption' as he is talking about differential pressures and specifically the different TPMS readings between rear left and rear right. His logic stands even if the gauge and technique are inaccurate.

Yep. If it was a one-off measurement, I wouldn't bother mentioning it.

Ian.g wrote: Sat Jul 08, 2017 8:51 am Obvious solution here... put the 18s that you have in your garage back on the car. Or at least 2 of them. Drive round for a few miles and see if they pick up. If that doesn't work you could go back with them on as the OPC will then be clear that it can't be the wheels/sensors.
Ian, already considered, a bit tight on time to get it done, will try to fit it in asap. A process of elimination. If the 18's work (I suspect they will) then with the 19's off I can easily fit a new set of sensors.
Well, alles ist klar, as they would say in Leipzig. The workshop that painted the wheels, did remove the senders depsite their assertion that they didn't, the tyres were refitted, then replaced on the car and I was on my way to France 15 miles later. However the senders were still in a container in the workshop! I found this out today by having one wheel removed, tyre lifted back to reveal just a rubber valve. All senders are refitted now and working fine. My local tyre man has a small battery powered detector that picks up the signal from a sender and shows pressure and temperature within 5 seconds. It was obvious that they had not been refitted. Pleased I don't have to visit an OPC about this 'problem'.

Useful to see that they are not too expensive to replace: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Set-of-4-Genu ... Sw2XFUct3q

Well that certainly explains why it wasn't working. Embarassing mistake by the people who painted the wheels for you - I hope they were suitably apologetic. Would have been even more embarassing if you had this diagnosed by the OPC.

Ian.g - Although they did say 'sorry', they were not pleased with my comments about inadequate workshop practices, bllnd tyre fitters and critique of their young manager/supervisor (son of owner) who lied to my face. So I won't be using them again. My local tyre fitters were astonished, as was I, to discover them not fitted. I would of appreciated a refund of the £40 I paid to have them refitted, but not offered. They do excellent work on accident repairs and paintwork, but so do many others.
