When my iphone connects automatically to my PCM via Bluetooth, my telephone rings ok and dials out ok but any speech is garbled. It works fine if I use the wired USB connection but this isn't always practical. Has anyone else had this issue and, if so, any ideas how to correct it? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried the obvious fault-finding? Does the BT work ok if your phone is connected to another vehicle? Does another iPhone work ok in your car? Is your IOS up to date? Have you tried a 'hard reset' of the phone (or PCM in extremis)?

Guy, thanks for your suggestions, the BT on my phone seems to be ok. I haven't tried making a calll from another iphone in the car yet but will give it a go. I assume if a hard reset is done on the PCM it will lose all the current settings etc. so want to avoid that if I can.

Resetting the PCM is very much a last resort, probably the last thing I'd try before resorting to the dealer. Of course, also try 'un-pairing' the phone and then 're-pairing' it, perhaps even after having given your phone a new 'name' in its settings.

In my PCM (3.1) manual, it differentiates between the following RESET types:

–– "Factory settings"
Resets all settings to predefined values. Any
data you entered (addresses, destinations,
and telephone numbers) is, however, retained.
–– "Vehicle handover"
Resets all settings to predefined values and
deletes the data you entered (addresses,
destinations, telephone numbers, logbook
as well as the recordings in the Sport display).

Also, have you tried turning the phone off completely and restarting it?
