Thanks, John. I'll bear that in mind for interim service. Won't be long, based on my mileage.John_M wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2017 12:44 pmI had that on an X3 with Xenons - when it went in for a service I got them to check, they were slightly too high (or top of acceptable) so they adjusted them down and many less people flashed me.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2017 10:58 pmI don't have the auto-dip function on my LEDs, but I have been flashed on numerous occasions by cars coming towards me, when my lights are definitely dipped. I can only assume that the LEDs are so bright, even when dipped, that the other cars think that I am on main beam.

My experience matches that of others on here: I have LEDs with auto dip and they can be sluggish but not consistently so. Worse, sometimes they don't dip at all! Those on my BMW 640D were definitely better.
When I brought that car I was doing nearly 20K per year into work - I am glad now only doing 7k (less than half distance and only going into office 3 or 4 days a week)

I walk into work, so pretty much all of my driving is social, domestic & pleasure.

It would take about 5 hours for me to walk to work (the days I am not working from home anyway) - I walked a similar distance yesterday, not sure I could do it twice in a day and workWing Commander wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2017 8:19 pm I walk into work, so pretty much all of my driving is social, domestic & pleasure.

I am uncomfortable with the LED auto dip but never been flashed, so assume its fine and do not leave auto set. However, as we all know, the instruments are unlit unless lights are on which bugs me a bit, then it occurred to me that perhaps the Porsche logic is that if they were permanently lit, drivers without auto set, would forget to put exterior lights on as it darkened, thus an accident risk. Perhaps Porsche knows best.

Had some proper night driving just now. Well impressed by the LEDs even on dip on the motorway. The auto dip does need careful watching as it is definitely dangerous for other road users.

I'd rather not have the lights on Auto, as I prefer to make my own decisions, but if you want to use the 'see me home' feature on VW Group cars you have to leave the lights set to Auto.

Presumably there's a sensor involved for the auto dip?
I've had to clean my surround cam a couple of times so maybe that does the lights as well?
If so cleaning that could be worth a go.
My auto dip has been fine so far, maybe a touch reluctant to go full beam at times if anything.

Personally I am quite happy to delegate such things to the car when it makes reasonable decisions, just like I am happy for it to make decisions about which gear it needs to be inNuclear Nick wrote: ↑Tue Nov 21, 2017 7:29 am I'd rather not have the lights on Auto, as I prefer to make my own decision
