Porsche connect is all set up and I have the app on my iPad and iPhone, problem is every time I try to log on to the app via phone or iPad it logs me on and straight off again, see image.

Is anyone else getting this or know how to resolve it?

Yes getting that (after I found I had an incorrect password saved against my id). No solution, found. Given up for now. Annoying that my Car Connect is fine!

An odd one Col. If I enter an incorrect password it doesn’t allow me in, but if I enter the correct password it lets me in but then logs me off straightaway. It sounds like a cookie issue somewhere.

Am I right in thinking I need this app to work before I can use any of the apps in the car?

No, traffic data, Google Destination search & Earth don't require the Connect app.

When I touch the Apps option from the home screen in my Macan I get this message, what do I do next to get traffic data and Google Earth to appear on the screen?

These are slightly different things, Google Earth and Traffic are not ‘apps’ although the Porsche documentation implies they are.

On the map screen, touch the stack of three squares on the right hand side of the screen. The options for Google and Real Time Traffic then appear.

Previous car Turbo PP Google earth / Google destination search fine without setting up C+

Current Car Cayman built November 17 Google earth / Google destination search require C+ set up to work.

Current car has a built in SIM which will support GE / GE search and apps. Free for two years.

If you want to use the car's wifi hotspot to, e.g. stream video you have to do one of two things

(1) pay a subscription to Porsche of £39 a month for 7gb and continue to use the internal sim card. Ridiculous price even by Porsche standards.

(2) get your own sim card and put it in the sim card slot. If you do this your sim is used for all data including GE etc.

This all applies to my Cayman but likely that the same set up is in recent Macans?

Thanks folks, all seems to be working fine now. Even the App on the phone and iPad are allowing me to log in which is odd.

I have set my iPhone as a 'Hot Spot' and tethered the Macan to that, this seems to work fine, Google Maps and other services are now working as they should.

“ settings” , “ personal hotspot” on .......effectively using your phone as the data source.
