When I first put AdBlue in my Macan I bought one of these but it just kept blowing back and lost about half the liquid. The nozzle didn't let any air in.

This time I bought one of these from Morrisons, it has a breather in the spout and it couldn't have been easier.
I will keep it to use next time it needs topping up.

Why do they make it so difficult? I suppose the whole thing is an afterthought.

I am surprised they don't cater for it at filling stations. Why not have an adblue pump for cars? I think they have them for lorries. It would just need an appropriate size nozzle.

I bought the large container as shown on the first photo. Managed to get about half in before it started blowing back. I then let the contents settle in the tank before putting in the remainder. I bought from Eurocarparts using a discount code. Was pretty cheap. You really need someone else to hold the container whilst you hold the nozzle.

There are pumps at garages that work fine for some cars, eg VW, but will not work for Porsche.

I have done mine twice now, about 20l each time. Order the adblue off the internet cheap as chips, 10L containers. Have got one proper Porsche one litre container, that I have sawn the bottom off. Screw it in and use it as funnel. Need to fill it and then push and hold to let the air back out, otherwise will get blowback. 10 minute job.

The VW tube thing arrived in post this morning. Looks promising but have not had time to try it. Meanwhile the AdBlue warning, last indicating 800 miles, has disappeared.

Success. The VAG tube is a twin affair with an inner tube that allows air back into filling canister. I had to use a five litre shampoo drum as it had the correct thread. 20 litres added less spillage from first attempt. That first attempt must have added about 3 litres which could have switched off warning light.
