Saw this interesting topic on the US forum - it seems there may have been some cost cutting on the MY2018 Macan S:

Not sure if it applies to UK/European models too but perhaps some of you with new deliveries will check!

Just took this from the US forum.

Basically the large plastic bits outlined in yellow, and the two front diagonal cross bars (two of the ones outlined in red) seems to have been deleted from some of their newer cars, Turbo included.

But there are no corners in the US, only straight, wide roads, so extra body stiffness not needed. :P

Only joking! ;)

Thanks Semerka - of course the extra two diagonal strut braces are missing in both of those pictures.

Have you checked yours?

Will check tonight. Ours is Sept 2016 built. I have had the bonnet open on several occasions in the past, but cannot remember now, haha!
But I think that all those are in there as per your picture you posted.

Not sure about the value of the extra cross braces, but it definitely looks a bit weird (unfinished?) without the side plastic covers!

Yes it looks untidy... why remove ? So the big bar across the back of the engine has been removed too? Isn’t that a important part to keep the body from flexing?

No, the big bar is still there, but on older models there are an additional two struts from the middle of the 'big bar' to each side.

If you search for 'macan engine bay' on google images you will see several permutations.
