Our Macan does predominantly longer journeys of an hour or more and only live in a small town

It is what it is so no complaints

As above the SD oil change is 2 years or 20,000 miles BUT it also monitors the oil and can ask for it earlier. My car has done 9400 miles and wants one in about 10,0000 miles. I think it will be nearly ready to change when it needs its 2 year service, so the 2 will probably co-incide. If an oil change on its own was going to cost me £400 I might look at getting it done elsewhere - it can't be that difficult!

No offence Simon but your Panamera is not a Macan SD. The declared interval for the Panamera is 10K whereas for the Macan SD it's 20K.

Why the petrol engine needs a more frequent oil change than the diesel I have no idea and it does defy logic.

Live long and prosper :D

Hi. As far as I know, there is no 'declared interval' for oil changes on the new 2017-18 Panamera. The intervals seem to be determined by the electronic condition monitoring that the car does. So if driven in the right way (whatever that is) the car could last for 20k miles before needing an oil change, thereby coinciding with interim and major services etc. The OPC could not explain why my car asked for oil at 10k, especially as it is overwhelmingly driven on long motorway runs. :?

The cynical might say that Porsche is just looking to increase their income/profit from more regular oil changes. ;)

If you have found somewhere that it states definitively that the declared oil change interval for a 2017-18 Panamera 4 (petrol 3.0) is every 10,000 miles, I'd love to know. :)

I found this on the internet so it must be true

https://www.porsche.com/.../default.pdf ... ..panamera

As it's .com it probably means it's the American site.

Hi Peter,

That link doesn't work for me. I did see a website for a US Porsche dealer that recommended changing oil every 10k miles, but that was for the Mark I Panamera, and based on advice for that model from an American dealer.

Sorry, the link doesn't work for me either

I found it by searching for Porsche Panamera Maintenance Schedule.

Yeah, I did exactly the same search this morning. It came up with various sites, all of which related to the 'old' Panamera. From what I can see, Porsche no longer quote a declared oil change interval for the new Panamera. I looked in my service booklet and it just says "The next service dates are shown on the instrument cluster in your vehicle."
