Hi

Not having much luck with my GTS in 1 year of ownership. Had small scratch on front bumper (smart repaired and looks fine), a cyclist punched a dent in the rear quarter panel (now fixed and looks ok) and more recently found someone has taken a small chunk out of my rear bumper (probably hit it with something whilst walking past) and I’ve got some scratches and line dent running across passenger door and front quarter panel per the attached pics. Never had so much bad luck with 1 car in such a short space of time. Avoid London!

Anyway, re the pictures, I am thinking smart repair is no good so can anyone recommend a paint shop in west London (live in Ealing) and would you caution me against going anywhere apart from Porsche approved the closest of which is M&A coach works in north London?

Also out of curiotisty would love to hear from anyone experienced what sort of cost I am likely to be facing.

Thanks

Phil

Hi

From what I see, I reckon you're best going to somewhere that can quote you per panel. I had my Golf GTi done in Wandsworth Town by some guys who do all the VW and MB work for dealers in SW London. I had a dent in a rear quarter that they rectified and blended the paint to match. They do all sorts of exotica too and if I had the same issue, I wouldn't hesitate taking my Macan there for this sort of work. Not sure if it's too out of the way but can give you the name anyway if interested.

Sure thing, here are their details:

commodoremotors.co.uk

Like I said, they did well by me. It's best to take the car down there (they're open on Saturdays too) for them to take a look. Then park up somewhere and enjoy The Ship pub which is basically right next door!

I used fast lane myself. They have multiple branches and I went to Guildford. They are good. Had problem with colour but they fixed it quickly. They used to be Porsche approved.

Also got quotes from premier panel skills, who is Porsche approved. Their quote is competitive. Try them first as they are approved repairer. They are also at Guildford.

I just collected my car from Paintchip in Brent Cross. They did a good job on my door and side blades and I’d probably use them again. Send them a photo and they can give you an estimate over email

They gave me a ball park of 180 per panel. Don’t be put off by the fact that they are in the shopping centre car park, when I went there they had a Maserati and a 911 in for some work. I think they’re affiliated to fast lane as well

I used Brent Cross last year.
Had some front wing damage by me and rear bumper damaged by my wife.
They said would normally charge 150 each but agreed to my suggestion to do both for 250.
They did a excellent job that even Hartfield and Cambrige did not notice the repairs.
Arrived July 2023 - S, Silver.
Arrived April 2019- S Petrol in Sapphire Blue & 21” Spiders. Sold
Arrived April 15 -diesel S, Agate grey & 20 “ spiders. Sold

Old thread but just in case. I have been using Acton Coachworks in the past. Used them for a GT3 with panel damage and one 458 Speciale with riad rash issues before I ppf’d it.

They know their stuff, and will help out if they can avoid full panel respray. Quality with me has always been faultless but they are probably not the cheapest out there. But they are not extortionate either.

Ask for Paul Lopez when calling in. He’s genuinely passionate about cars.
