2018 GTS 29,000 miles. No symptoms , Still on original.
Spoke to dealer yesterday about this concern. They said total lottery as to if and when it will fail. They know cars with over 100,000 miles still on original and others that have failed within the first 3,000 miles.
Is driving style or use type the reason for failure? How come they never failed during testing?

As the reason for the original failures was water intrusion through the breather into the box oil, I suspect a factor might be the degree of driving on very wet roadsMacan360 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 4:05 pm 2018 GTS 29,000 miles. No symptoms , Still on original.

2019 Macan S Porsche code PKW8WKI8
I am hoping they have sorted the issue with the gen 3!!!
I've heard from mechanics that the pano since 2019 refresh is less problematic.
Also that the coated brakes last 'forever' (pads and discs) compared to standard and are worth having. The two guys I spoke to had never had to replace either on a macan.

Why would the possibility, expectation even, of one mechanical issue put you off? If that were the case you'd never buy any car at all!
Plus, have seen it happen with Gen 2, never mind 3?

2017 Macan S diesel. 38,500 miles. Owned from new. No issues yet, but the car has always had slight tyre slip when pulling away on loose surfaces, almost like an LSD locking up.
