Guys - I know many folk have warranty and use OPC for service ( even if out of warranty ) as well as independents - however as the model ages and get more miles ( and residuals start to drop ) - I am sure there will be more self service drivers attracted to the forum, as well as technically competent individuals.
I understand the Macan has a OBD II port and iCARSOFT POR V2.0 and other packages can reset most parameters.
Any feedback in general for this or other Tools ?

I did note one recently Sold in the For Sale section
I found the Macan easy to service with OEM parts and consumables - plenty excellent advice on here too

I think you are right most members rely on OPCs but certainly in US/Aus there is a much stronger DIY ethos and to keep cars on the road longer (greener!) then it should be encouraged as OPC economics is not good for older cars.
I have not changed to winter wheels on a Porsche but on the mini you need the OBD system to do that because the TPS needs to be synced to the correct wheel sensor i.e. you can’t change your own wheels! So I’ll be interested what shows up in your thread ...

Hi Ferdie
I have a Mini Countryman as part of fleet and recently changed my tyres - indeed you get a warning on dash, however there are many YouTube videos to detail how to reset this ( and other ) parameters. I have reset oil service distance to go too, after changing oil myself.
It only took a few minutes stabbing at indicator stalk and A/B button and flicking through menu - voila
Its an older mini - so not sure if newer models have further sophistication.

It's well worth taking a look at the US Macan Forum, as there are several threads on Porsche diagnostic tools, plus over there they are more adventurous re DIY.

I haven't checked the 911 but I thought it was made law a few years ago that the service indicator on a car had to be resettable without any special tools? The idea being to stop manufacturers having a monopoly on servicing.
