Why do you feel the need to change your car after 3 years? If you are happy with it (and it sounds as if you are), why not buy an extended warranty for a year or more?
Dilemma avoided.

Depreciation of diesels will probably accelerate.

I've been offered a fair p/ex by my OPC today plus a £1k second purchase bonus.

If I keep it there will be the costs of:
extended warranty+111 check
4 x new tyres
MoT each year from next May
Major Service in 2021
etc.

I like the experience and reassurance of a brand new car every 3 years.

Then there's the upcoming new car legislation: I don't want to have a speed limit governed obaying car.

A hybrid, PHEV or full BEV does not appeal to me.

So the next ICE one may well have to be a keeper!

I normally change my cars regularly but struggling to see anything that can temp me away from my Feb 2018 reg SD. If I don’t see anything I fancy then I will get it serviced in Feb , have the 111 check done and buy 2 years additional warranty to take it to Feb 2023.

Good illustration SAC1. And how much more Earth resources are needed to produce the car, in the first place. And including the batteries, which need replacing more often than an ICE unit.

SD in for 40,000 mile Service today. Another DME update on the to do list. They couldn’t tell me what the effect would be.

I cannot be sure of any change in performance since latest update. It might come out of Sleepy Sport easier or it just may be my constant prodding and wishful thinking.

Just a quick question for those talking of a recent DME Control Unit update for SDs. What 'designation' is it? (This should be entered in your service record at page 24 under 'Service Campaigns'.)

So far I have had WG22 (Aug 2017) and AJ07 (Feb 19). Is there a third update?
