Sounds very like a fuelling sensor as someone else said. There is probably some sort of an over fuelling safe limp mode that kicks in and thats why the warning is saying drive with care to the dealership. It should be recorded in the memory so even if it reset this morning they should be able to interrogate the memory and locate it. Even if its unlikely to be doing any damage I still would be contacting Porsche assist and leave it to them.

Got Porsche assist out so that sorted it. Then got enterprise calling to deliver a hire car - told them i was away out for the morning. They then said oh, we shut at 12...thats really not much use...

I just told them to sort one for Monday, wasn’t worth an argument.

Update from Porsche today...

Looks like both turbos need replaced and there’s an oul leak somewhere (they did explain, but I cant remember exactly).

Effectively they’re going to have the car for c. 2 weeks, and I’m stuck in a 520d.

Could be worse, could be out of warranty! Ha

Blimey. Both turbos. What would that have cost if it had been out of warranty?? How old is it?

And only just over 2 years old! Blimey!

As you say, just as well it’s still within the (3 year?) warranty period.

At least you have ‘the ultimate driving machine’ in the meantime. ;)

😂 the ultimate tractor...at least it’s efficient...haha

It’s in its 3 year warranty, but bought approved used so has 2yrs from August 18 (I’m lead to believe). Will be getting extended either way! 😐

A very worrying development for us 911 owners on here. Really odd to hear of two turbos giving up in such a new car. There has to be more to it but I'm not sure they'll be likely to say what. Possible an oil supply or post drive cooling issue

I think you’re right, there will be an underlying issue somewhere, I’ll be asking what the root cause was and all downstream impacts - dont want issues piling up in future.

I get the concern, but one way tho think of it, you only hear the bad stories...I’ve not told you of the 5k miles trouble free...

It’s back!

If anyone has any doubts on whether to stick with their Porsche or not...spend two weeks in a 520d Msport. You’ll never question a Porsche again!

So glad to be back in the 911.

Cause of the fault was an oil seal. Buggered two turbos and i think 3 coil packs (waiting on the final report).

Car drives like normal now!

Will keep people updated once the report is through.
