Through the 12v socket in the centre console.
I thought the 12v socket in the centre console 'switched off' after about 15 minutes of the key being removed, I'm sure it does on my 2017 Macan?
If this is the case, how is the Ctek continuing to charge?

Thanks Guy.
So if I have this right, turning the ignition on THEN connecting the Ctek, then turning the ignition off keeps the socket live?

I have just suffered the dreaded 'flat battery' problem after not using the Macan for just over a month. I charged the battery with my Ctek MXS 7.0 using the two terminals under the bonnet. It seems t have charged okay. I hope it didn't go so flat that it needs recoding, I will attempt to take it out for a run later and see what happens.

I did this once and it recovered with no problems. I initially had a few warning lights (PAS etc) but these cleared after a short drive. I think there's something about driving after recharging a flat battery in the manual. Certainly no recoding was required.

And to answer your other question - yes that's the procedure. However, I don't like the cigar lighter socket because it never feels like a very good connection. I prefer to use the under bonnet terminals.

Thanks again Guy.
I have started the car and all seems to be okay, a run later will hopefully confirm all is okay.
If ever I leave it again for an extended period I will attach a Ctek lead to the two terminals under the bonnet and leave the Ctek connected, I never like the idea of using auxiliary sockets to charge batteries.

Works ok in mine - socket does not go 'dead' after weeks of Ctek charging?
