Anyone had the pleasure or got insights, currently waiting 2H for a collection.

Motoring along, done 200 miles today, just before home stop to get some 98 RON petrol when 1 mile later the engine starts vibrating and loosing power to then cut out entirely as I coast off the road. Restart is more of same and then game over, fuel starved or bad fuel. Get the bad fuel guys out and he pulls 1L of yup, petrol, no sign of water or diesel.

This has however just flashed up..



Off to mid-Sussex on a flatbed she goes when they get here.

Perhaps that message is a result of drawing fuel out?

I had similar to your first experience in my last car a S3.. it turned out to be water in the fuel, after much investigation from Audi. It ended up costing Tescos over 1k as they excepted full responsibility.

Thanks and the timing between fuelling and fault was too proximal especially given all the rain of late but there were no other reports of stranded cars and the one in front of me used the same fuel so there would have been a few..

Could be worth contacting the garage to make sure they have had no other reports and indeed to report it to them.

If they won’t accept liability your insurance should cover it, with no fault involved as they will pursue the garage (hopefully it won’t cone to that )

Good luck. Mine was as I said with Tesco, others had the same issue and it was in the local paper, they were great and even gave me £100 vouchers and compensation.
