Hi
Can any owners of the new Macan S help me with this questions.....
I have an annoying vibration between 1500 and 4000 RPM, which is even more prominent when the car is under load, ie going up a hill.. coming from the engine or drive train.
Just did a 600 mile round trip and the vibration was very noticeable even when cruising on the motorway and disappointing from the 3l engine.
I had a long term drive with the 2l Macan 2019 model and didn't have this issue..
Has anyone noticed this or is it just me expecting a smooth engine from a £66k car?
Please let me know your thoughts..
Thanks
Howard

There's a thread on here somewhere about a similar vibration for the older models. It's down to torque and engine mapping. The car swaps up too quickly to maintain economy. The only way out of it is a more aggressive map, ie Sport. Pretty much all of them have it.howardsheldon wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 8:59 pm Hi

I just took delivery of my Macan S 3.0 petrol(2017) abt 24K mileage.I have also noticed the gruff vibrations more like a groaning from 5th gear to 7th gear at low rpm (1200 to 1600) on automode when you just prod slightly on the pedal but not enough to initiate a kickdown to 6 yet.
It is especially replicable from 7th gear when rpm reads about 1100 and come if it reaches 1200 rpm.
I drove it using pedal shift and again same groaning comes on from 1200rpm at 7th gear.
Put it to Sports and all sound is gone when rpm hits above 1800.
I read a review by Chris Perkins "https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/a25460694/2019-porsche-macan-s-first-drive-review/".
In the article he also mentioned some vibrations at low engine speed. This is a new 2019 Macan S.
ATM there is no solution from my mechanic .
The only way is to kickdown a bit more aggressively so that the tach hits pass 1200 to 1600 quickly or just press the Sports button.
I have not tested the 2.0 Macan.
Another Macan S I tested had the same problem.
