Tailgate stuck won’t open.

Hello Macan forum members my Porsche Macan Diesal has locked the boot (tailgate) shut and won’t open on any of the buttons ie key interior switch or external one on the rear wiper. You can hear a whirring motor and clicking noise but it’s stuck and doesn’t open at all. I have checked fuses which ironically are in the boot. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance Sanjeev.

I would take it back to the OPC.

Probably needs minor adjustment or reset.

I think there is a manual release. Will have a look.

If the tailgate still cannot be opened (e.g. the vehicle battery is flat), the tailgate must be opened using the emergency unlocking procedure:

Fold rear seat backrests forward.
Please see the chapter “FOLDING REAR SEAT BACKRESTS FORWARD AND RETURNING TO UPRIGHT POSITION” on page 42.
Get into the luggage compartment over the folded rear seats.
Remove the cover on the emergency unlocking mechanism on the inside of the tailgate using a screwdriver.
Actuate the lock for unlocking the tailgate in direction of arrow using the screwdriver.
An unlocking noise will be heard.
The tailgate can now be opened by hand.
