Ti Rich wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 9:13 am Can anyone explain to me what the various service intervals are? For example in the photo above what type of service is Interval 1?
Service 1: Main/Major service

Service 2: Interim/Minor Service

Service 3: Oil Change
Perfect thank you but I am not sure that makes sense unless I am missing something.

I have S1 in 11K, S2 in 15K and S3 in 17K

It can't need 3 services in 6K miles can it? (I do 17K a year)
For it possible to make sense and be explained, when was car new? and what months are being shown for S1 ,S2 and S3? and what is the service history mileage and dates?

No, that looks wrong. But S3 (oil) may well coincide with either S1 or S2.

Perhaps they reset it incorrectly when it was last serviced. When I had my first (interim) service they reset it as if it was a Major service. I had it all reset properly when I had my Major service at the 4 year point.

Many thanks again for the help - I have just been and checked again. I just purchased this last month from an OPC. Car was new 05/2017 so just coming up to 3 years old. 23K on the clock. Not sure about previous service history but I guess just the first one in or around 05/2019

It is showing:-

S1 in 16.7K miles or 04/2021
S2 in 12.3K miles or 04/2021
S3 in 11.2K miles or 04/2021

The info here makes sense, just follow the date, suggests it was serviced 04/2019 and if you add the 16.7 to your current miles if you reach the 40k before 04/21 that would take precedence, otherwise the next service would be 04/21 and the service level carried out would be relevant to the miles completed. 👍

Looking at that I reckon that the S2 was incorrectly reset. It probably had a interim service around Apr/May 2019, as you say.

It's worth querying with an OPC as they will have all the servicing on record. But I would expect next service to be a 'main/major' in April next year, hopefully to include oil service if you do less than 11.2K miles before then.

(EDIT: Mike beat me to it, but I think we are saying roughly the same!)

But there is only 4.4K miles between the major and minor service? How can that be?

Surely both those include an oil change too?

I posted this previously, but if you have a quiet 5 minutes (😂) it goes some way to explaining the different servicing regimes (albeit the document is fairly old and some element may have changed)

The first oil change on the facelift macan S is the lesser of 1 year-old or 10k miles. My car showed « change oil now » exactly on its first birthday with 3500 miles on the clock. I waited approx. 1 month until today for my OPC to re-open. Cost me £384 at Porsche Centre Brooklands (at reduced labour rate). I was stunned by the price but apparently this engine needs 7 bottles of oil at approx. £25 each! I really believe it wasn’t necessary, but it could be a matter of warranty if you don’t do it on time...

Its worth supplying your own oil, I did this recently and cost £73.58 for 10L against the £175 from dealership, my AD was fine with me dioing this.
