I need to top the oil up in my 2.0 2018 mk1 macan. Looking in the handbook it says Macan (euro 6 vehicles) sae 0w 20 / vw 508 00 and Macan (all other variants - not turbo, gts, s or diesel though) sae 0w 30 or 5w 30/ vw 504 00 or porsche c30.

When I type my reg into opie oils I get Mobil 1 ESP 5w 30 fully synthetic. Is this correct?

Why is the Macan euro 6 different?

Sorry if this has been covered before.

Have you read through this? - viewtopic.php?f=26&t=8742&start=20

Not sure if will help or not!

Failing further advice I’d suggest you call your OPC.

My wife's VW Tiguan (2018) uses the same 2.0L engine (at a lower power rating). The VW handbook says the correct oil is 0W/20. It also says you can use 5W/30 but there will be a slight increase in omissions.

You are unlikely to harm the engine by using 5W/30 as long as you stick to Mobil 1.

Is there a spare bottle of oil under the rear boot floor as Porsche normally supply one when new or after any service ?

I had a quick look in the side pockets of the boot and nothing there. I'll have a look under the boot floor...just have to get the compartment liner out.

I did email my local OPC this morning about the oil and they phoned me back but I missed the call. I'll speak to them tomorrow

It's not normal for spare oil to be supplied, especially from new. Some OPCs apparently supply a litre in new cars, mine didn't, or at services, as mine did. It is in a pouch that is velcro'd to the side of the boot lining.

Talking of servicing, is yours due its first 2 yearly service, or is it on condition based servicing? Either way, is the car asking for oil? Just wondering if this can wait for the service, if it's due soon.

Sorry if this has been covered before.

The latest euro 6 model difference would be the introduction of the GPF, understand this can alter the recommendations, (see quote below) The handbook will be the place to confirm. “ On Track/ Peter” post response supports this, you can use 5/30 but will have some effect on the degree of emissions. Worth a cross ref v say a new Golf GTI engine requirement, I haven’t done so but betting it will say same.

“GPFs are low-cost, durable and effective in improving emissions under all operating conditions. They do, however, provide a challenge for the engine oil. The choice of lubricant will have a key influence on the life of the filter and the operating efficiency of the vehicle” 👍
