Adblue Grades - Halfords

Hi,

I’ve just bought 20l of Adblue from Halfords for my Macan but notice the spec is ISO 2241, not ISO 2241-1 as specified by Porsche.

I was relaxed about this until this morning when at my local garage someone brought a Disco in which had been filled with the wrong grade of Adblue. I questioned the mechanic about this and he mentioned they had Similar issues with high end Audi’s!

I still suspect the Halfords Adblue is fine but would appreciate any assurance from the forum before I fill the tank!

Has anyone had any experience they can share - good or bad?

The one time in 3 years that my SD needed AdBlue I had the OPC refill it to ensure that the correct grade was used.
As it was under warranty I did not want any get-out clauses excercised.

You will be fine with the halfords adblue.

You can get 2241-1 from Shell petrol stations. Have done that twice and works just fine.

it is all the same , the -1 only refers to testing

Didn't look into specifications as I assumed it was all the same? Refilled with this twice during my 19k miles from new, other time was the stuff bought at a Shell garage - no issues to date?

Thanks for the feedback... doesn’t sound like there are any horror stories out there and looking at the ISO the -1 doesn’t seem to effect the grade. Here goes...

I have mine filled by Porsche when it goes in for maintenance, never done it myself. Probably being lazy, but I don’t remember it costing a fortune.
