They have diagnosed the transfer box is faulty and needs replacing. A replacement unit is being ordered and will be fitted later this month.

The car is not currently under a Porsche warranty (will be purchased next month after the 3 month grace period has expired) but the replacement will be FOC.

Like some have reported there is an extended warranty on the drive train however, like most warranties it does require that the car has been properly maintained with no non OEM wheels fitted etc which seems logical to me.

Happy with the outcome and the OPC handled it really well.
Great news and a very positive outcome.

Great news , my Transfer box starting showing issues in my 2016 Macan S D 48,000, took it to my local dealer in Portsmouth who grated the replacement in Goodwill. Taking it in for repair next week.

I love when they say it's good will when there is a 7 year warranty that covers this fault.

In the US you can claim transfer box replacement costs from past (pre manufacturer warranty extension) repairs so am asking for this refund as mine was done in 2019. Anyone else tried to do this or know if its coming to the UK following the US law suits?

I’ve posted this info elsewhere, but for clarity repeated herein, I’ve owned mine 10 months noises/judders apparent two months ago. I contacted OPC trying to purchase a warranty as above told it needs 90 days before it qualifies but “ there are two outstanding campaigns” (a software update and trans box lube change). Why don’t PGB contact you, if I hadn’t about warranty purchase I wouldn’t know?

I checked with local specialist who very helpfully checked on PGB database with my reg and confirmed box would be replaced as part of a 7 year (from reg) extended warranty. All thru this the OPC offered no info , just accepted the booking for the lube change. Only when I went to them with info ‘specialist’ provided did they confirm box would be replaced if lube change fails to correct. Be aware of the 7 year sunset date on the PGB liability!

Far from satisfied with Comms from OPC whereas ‘specialist’ has been great, guess where I’m going after box resolved.

I’m trying to buy 2 year extended warranty but OPC found water ingress and won’t warrant the car until rectified, they want £2500 to investigate! I’m looking for alternative solutions see posts on “roof leaks” if you can help.

Quick update on mine

66 plate Macan 2.0, 37k miles, out of the 3 year warranty 18 months ago

The car started to show transfer box issue symptoms 2 weeks ago, booked in to Leicester OPC Tuesday this week and they called yesterday to confirm it is being fixed under warranty

No issues and excellent service as usual, should get the car back next week but we are away on hols this week anyway so no issue

Looks like transfer boxes are simply being sorted when presented to the the OPC. For reference, any decent Porsche indi will fix this for £1300 plus VAT if the OPC kicks up a stink

What did they do for a “fix”, replace the box or just a lube change, the lube change solved my judders but I’m worried it’s temporary, sunset date (7yrs post ref) is Sept 22 so I have some time yet.
