Hi Guys, has anyone reached the 12K or so that I am told needs to have the ad blue topped up.
My OPC told me that it would cost £125 for the 21 litres, which seems a little steep (£6 per litre?) for urea and de ionised water, which can be bought for under £1/litre.
Is there a special tool required, or is it similar to the Passat filling method?
A whole section on it in the "good to know" online handbook. Looks quite straightforward to do yourself ( despite the recommendations to go to a porsche workshop) Just make sure the stuff you ad complys to Porsche spec to avoid any warranty issues. It should comply with ISO 22241-1.
Thanks guys, time to consider, as my diesel s has the same timescales as Paul, so may be 18 months until I need to top up, but driving just for the fun of it may bring that closer.
VW website: AdBlue® top ups are available from your local Volkswagen retailer at a price of £1.50 per litre (this includes the AdBlue® liquid, the labour to install it and VAT at the current rate). Retailers will refill AdBlue® during vehicle servicing upon request. Your Volkswagen authorised repairer can refill the AdBlue® tank, and it is important to visit the workshop when the light comes on for the first time to avoid running out, whereupon the engine will not re-start. Alternatively, you can self-refill the AdBlue® tank with half-gallon (1.89 litres) refill containers of AdBlue®, available from your Volkswagen authorised repairer and selected filling stations. Use only the AdBlue® approved by Volkswagen in accordance with the Volkswagen standard and DIN 70070. To refill the tank, a fill adaptor must be screwed onto the AdBlue® refill container, which can then be screwed onto the filler neck of the AdBlue® tank. By applying pressure to the bottle, the valve in the fill adaptor opens allowing the AdBlue® to fill the tank. The Volkswagen 1.89litre top-up comes complete with the adaptor, part number: G052910A2
Just covered 11,500 miles and the top up Adblue flag appeared. Pleasantly surprised to find this was a total of £54 inc vat at my OPC. Car was already booked in for PDK software update and alarm sensor mod with Guildford, so no big issues and handled promptly and efficiently by the service team.
Have to say the engine seems smoother and more responsive - something I have found with previous Porsche's once they have 11-12k on the clock, anyone else noticed this?

MBB that seems very reasonable and saves all the pffaffing about. Do you know if that was a standard cost or reduced due t issues with the alarm? My SA quoted £125
