Gen 1 GTS PDK service
Must say I thought it was overkill, especially regarding low mileage, but they have the latest worksheets and you have to take them at face value regarding service requirements. I had the Air Con refreshed as well as that is recommended every two years.
What did your OPC say when you asked them?Kleynie wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 12:14 pm My GTS is 6 years old in June and has 34K miles. To my knowledge it has never had a PDK service as the 4 year service was only at 26K miles and not required. The question is, should I now have the PDK service done at 6 years or wait until 40K miles?
Thank you
Ian

The OPC said it needs a full 6 year service at £1830 even though it had a major service in Jan 22 and only 7k miles ago.

In your position I'd find the attraction of a day trip to Brooklands almost irresistible, they seem to have not a bad word against them.

I would get it done now, it's oil and loses its properties over time/use. For the cost of a change vs the cost of a potential failure, silly not to.Kleynie wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 12:14 pm My GTS is 6 years old in June and has 34K miles. Should be glad Porsche have a service schedule for it, some manufacturers insist a transmission is sealed for life like they do with diffs and transfer units

So you had a major service 16 months ago, surely this one is a minor, plus pdk oil change......seems steep at £1830.
Ask them for a run down of what they are actually doing for that.
Shop around?
That’s what I thought too. I have emailed and await their response.

It could be a long wait. Two years ago when I was due a 20k service I emailed 2 OPCs, got two responses, last year when was due the 40k neither of those two responded to my enquiry. As it happened I was able to sell the car before it hit the 40k mark and the service was strictly due so that was that. My new S came from a different dealer all together, can't wait for the 17,500 miles to pass and we can start the maintenance dance again!Kleynie wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 9:01 pmThat’s what I thought too. Checked my service book the other day, and noted that the PDK oil change is showing due at 40K mls or 6 years. As it has just gone over both, called my OPC Sheffield, and it's now booked in for next month to be done. All in less than £300, not too bad I don't think.
Brooklands OPC replied to the email this morning saying that I can have the PDK service done now and the other 6 year service items done later. Seeing as its only 15 months since the last major service I will try and long it out for a few more months.Neil1911 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 11:09 pmIt could be a long wait.
