My GTS is 6 years old in June and has 34K miles. To my knowledge it has never had a PDK service as the 4 year service was only at 26K miles and not required. The question is, should I now have the PDK service done at 6 years or wait until 40K miles?

Thank you
Ian

If I remembered correctly, you have Porsche warranty extended, so I would definitely get the PDK oil change done to avoid any possibility of later challenge re a warranty claim. if the car is a long term keeper, I would still anyway get the change done. It will just cost more a year later.

Yes, I extended the warranty for two years and no way am I getting rid of this fantastic car anytime soon.

So you are saying I should get it done regardless?

I've just had a 4 year service ( at 3 1/2) years, mileage 11,600 and the PDK oil change was done at that time. The OPC said it should be changed every 4 years or 40,000 miles whichever comes first. Strangely the car performance seems to be a lot sharper than before.

My OPC (Brooklands) told me 6 years or 40K

@RGS, think your OPC has stitched you up, it has always been 6 years or 40,000 whichever comes first. No technical reason why this should have changed?

You may be correct because on the Porsche website it states 80,000 miles or every 6 years. But that relates to Gen 1 from 2014 and no further updates to be found relating to later versions. I have a Gen 2 Turbo and on the service sheet it clearly says Additional Maintenance Task, replace PDK transmission Change Clutch Fluid & Filter at 40,000 miles / 60 km or every 4yrs. Op code 03560050. As I have an extended warranty I have to do what they say I guess, but because my OPC let me down by failing to supply a loan car after me booking the service 6 weeks in advance and putting me to some inconvenience I got a huge discount on the service which pretty much covered the cost of the transmission oil change. So whether there has been a change in timescale for later vehicles, I really don't know

Got to say, I’m not aware of any change to timescale with Gen 2, maybe another member can clarify. Good though that you got a big discount and at least if you are keeping the car past six years you can tell them to “ **** off” re another PDK oil change charge 🤭

I've just had my 6-year service @ 12k miles from new. As well as a PDK service I also had a spark plug change carried out. I was given the old pligs back and told there was plenty of life left in them, although I can not imagine doing any diy myself.
