First post is to report my issues with the Transfer Box on 2105 SD after 21k miles. Reported stuttering start up especially after auto stop start used. Box seemed hesitant. Dealer said it was a "characteristic " of the car... i.e. code for its a design cock up.
Symptoms got worse gradually, starting with shuddering in low gears at pull off which then increased to up to fifth gear. At this point Porsche Swindon decided they need to look at it and sent a recovery vehicle to collect mine.
I informed them, I thought it was the transfer box failing. They said maybe. It was the transfer box. Being replaced as I type this. The point of this post is
To warn others that failed transfer boxes are an issue for Macans
Don't be fobbed off by your OPC if you have any of the above symptoms.
Tall Phil - back in the early days there were a few. Hesitant getaways and slow power delivery in reverse were some of the symptoms I recall from memory. Clearly AlanB provides an even more specific write up of the issues which relate to the failure.

Hi guys I think I have the same problem. I had Porsche support assist come out and the engineer said that there is a shudder on acceleration or under load. My SD has covered 14500 miles and the tyres are now worn down to the lowest point of 4mm. The engineer said that it maybe the tyres at fault and the ECU can not cope with the distribution of where the drive should go. Bottom line he thinks I should replace all the tyres. I don't like the sound of that as it's easy £1200 for my tyres on turbo 21" wheels. Can you tell me if anyone has had this experience? I am taking it back to OPC on Monday to let the top technician drive the car. Cheers Al.
Hi Alan Thank for a prompt reply. It's very reassuring to know there is a problem, not just me moaning. I have a list of problems that have been arising over the months but the OPC say that I have to live with. I say a £65k shouldn't have these, i.e embarassing brake squeal which has been looked at twice and been told do emergency stops every week to keep the discs clean. My wife won't do that for sure. Anyhow, I feel a bit better after that rant. I will let you know next week what (bu.....t) they say.
Hardwork Tyres down to 4mm in theory you should be able to run them down to the legal limit of 1.6 mm,I know most don't but I'm sure we shouldn't need to replace them at 4mm to keep the ! Macan running correctly that to me sounds like an insult on your intelligence and total Bull sh*t. SteveW
