Bought a Porsche sponge last year, so really tempted to push the boat out and go for an ice scraper, ready for an anticipated move back to UK later this year :)

Along with a nice big Porsche mug for your warming hot chocolate to keep out the chill! ⛄️

Or would the ideal outcome be for your existing box to operate perfectly until well after you have sold your Macan...?! ;)

Yes of course, but my typical car/bike ownership is 10-15 years ...

Oh yes!

Triumph Sprint ST motorcycle: Bought new in 2001 for £7800, now worth about a grand.
VW Golf Mk4: Bought 'second life' in 2005 for £7000, now worth £2000 (thanks to scrappage schemes! :D )
Porsche Macan: Bought new Sep 15 for £57,000, now worth .... ??

I can live with those figures!

Macan Diesel S (bought March 2015, just over 30K miles) went in for a transfer box replacement this morning. Symptoms, juddering at low speed, once warmed up. Feels like your going over speed bumps when the road is perfectly flat.

Just for info as far as I'm aware there is no 'uprated' version of the transfer box.

Porsche are still using the same part number as they've used from the very start of Macan production. If the part had been superseded it would normally have a later version suffix and there is none for the transfer case. Doesn't mean Porsche didn't have a specific batch that weren't made to spec or have a specific issue with manufacture etc but given the fairly random nature of the faults that seems unlikely.

I think Porsche are just replacing under warranty as and when fails with the exact same version.........

Thanks Mark - that's a very good point. I suppose the ideal outcome would be for the box to fail sooner rather than later in order to get the uprated/updated one fitted with the minimum of fuss.

My 3 year and 3 month old Turbo has started to judder under light acceleration and Sheffield OPC has told me the transfer box needs replacing at an estimated cost of £2k.....

As it is out of warranty I will have to pay - which is bit annoying to say the least as the car has done only 14.5k miles !!

Has anybody managed to get a goodwill replacement ?

I think if it were me, I would be pushing for a goodwill gesture from Porsche GB. Shouldn’t have to replace the transfer box after that age and mileage and other owners within warranty have had similar issues and had the box replaced.
