I don't know if this is normal but those of you with more miles on your cars may be able to answer.

First 1500 miles I've been averaging c 19 MPG in the GTS (about 80% town driving) then suddenly, on the last tank got 24.7 MPG. No difference in driving style or mix of driving and it was evident from the moment I drove off the forecourt. I haven't changed any settings have used the same V-Power Nitro from the same station so very perplexed about the sudden dramatic improvement in fuel consumption. Obviously I would be delighted if it continues and hoping it is just down to the engine maybe loosening up a bit but suspect I have inadvertently changed something and obviously would like to know what it is!

TIA

VanB, I've had no such good fortune with mine ; still hovering just over 20mpg after 4700 miles.....I can get up to the 25 mark on motorway cruising at a steady 80-85 ish, but as soon as you get back on the A roads that PSE somehow calls and I find myself accelerating hard - just because I can and 16 -18 soon re-appears!

I'm also measuring " accurately" via the fuelly app which shows overall 21.4 over 4400 miles compared to the trip which shows (spookily) 21.4 over 4700 miles (I didn't start using fuelly until MY first fill up.....)

Are you using just the trip on the PCM? Maybe the car was nice and warm, up to temp and the trip will settle back to 20's after a few 100 miles? If not, best if luck and and a few less visits to the forecourt

Not done as many miles as you VanB but what is interesting is my MPG starts around 30 and then works its way down and sits around 19 - 23mpg depending on where i am going but most is local roads (School runs etc)
My other cars start low and work upwards...

Assume this is normal

I use Fuelly to measure my consumption and just this one tank was up at 24.7 - no reason no explanation.

Kasfranks I've noticed that about the on board consumption indicator which is very odd. It was the opposite on the Cayman - started with very low MPG and climbed to then settle around a reasonable average for the conditions at the time.

Temperature can change MPG. Was it warmer than "normal"?
