Every car I have driven in the past with CC, I drive at the speed I want to set, press the button and it sets it. The Macan however is slightly different. I turn on the CC by pressing the button on the end of the stalk. The only way to set it is then to push the stalk away from you, however this then adds 1mph to the speed. Not a major issue, but a bit odd and mildly irritating! Standard CC, not the adaptive one. And I presume everyone knows (but just in case), by holding the stalk away from you or towards you it adjusts in 5mph increments.

Yes, just something you get used to (or not!)....and then jump into Mrs Paul's BM and that's all different.....
but I do quite like tbe speed limiter button; use it quite often on A roads where you can otherwise get a bit carried away Paul2017-04-08 20:38:29

Tis a bit of a joke the silly stalk jobbie even my 17k transit custom has the CC on the steering wheel and my nippers juke has..

Sacrifice for the awesome 918 steering I suppose

You don't have to turn it on by pushing the button on the end of the stalk though. Just push stalk forward to set it. Down to suspend, up to resume.

It's like anything - if you use something similar to something you are familiar with, but it's not quite the same, it'll be weird.

I actually dislike yank-style steering wheels with everything on the wheel.

It's just a design decision really.

Personally I prefer the Audi style CC stalk :)

I'm used to it now but it's counter-intuitive to me, surely towards the driver to set and increase, away to reduce would be instinctive, but hey-ho, it works fine. The speed limiter can be a license saver.

We have a great looking steering wheel as is, to have CC controls there as well would require a major redesign.

Stalk is good, intuitive once you get used to its operation.

Prior I had Pull = on, push = off, Up = +1, down = -1.

Soon got used to the different method

Strange but I find it completely intuitive. Once it's been "turned on" it stays on with a greyed out icon in the MFD when it's not active. A quick prod forward on the stalk activates it again and you can increase or decrease the speed set in 1 mph increments with a quick prod on the stick. Forward for faster and back for slower is also intuitive.
