As above, I would politely decline their offer to service/re-gas the air con at this early stage.

Hi LVision. I would suggest to your OPC that you're happy to pay £425 (not £450) for the service and £95 (not £150) for the brake fluid change, as per the widely quoted Porsche fixed price servicing. Not all OPCs are signed up to this, but I would be curious as to why they propose charging £80 or 15% more than most other OPCs...

Well after almost 2 years of owning my second Macan I just booked my car in for a first service today. Car has now done 15,900 miles and is running sweetly. I have not had a car serviced for 8 years as I normally get rid before car is 2 years old but decided to keep this Macan as it would have cost £15k just to swap to a new Macan of almost identical spec. Phoned Porsche Leeds and got the first service plus brake fluid change for a straight £500 inc VAT and a courtesy car for the day. The service reception chap was keen for me to spend 15 to 20 mins with the service manager before the service with the car up on the ramps and I said that I would be more than pleased to do this. Will take some pics. In addition to the standard service the service receptionist checked to see what "campaigns" were outstanding on the Macan and he found two: 1) replace filter on diesel fuel filler 2) reprogramme DME unit with latest DME software . Booked in for mid May and asked if I could have a new 718 Cayman as a courtesy car but was told that it would in all likelihood be a Cayenne. Will report back.mark-yorkshire 2017-04-26 19:41:48

Having had a 987 Cayman and a 981 Boxster I will try to get a 718 as a courtesy car. Has anyone else had the DME reprogrammed and if so did it have any effect on performance or fuel consumption ?

I took my car in for its first service today at just a few days short of its 2 years since delivery and with 16,350 miles on the clock. Was meant to get to meet the service technician for a look around under the car but after being kept waiting for quite some time ( it took one hour between arriving and departing in a courtesy car ) I said I could not wait any longer. Instead I got 2 video presentations e mailed to me during the day. The first video showed the technician inspecting the brake pads/ discs and tyres and a print out of a wheel alignment check. One of the rear wheels was slightly out of camber but no sign of any adverse wear of the tyre and therefore I declined the quoted cost of £240 for a re-alignment . I got a call during the day to tell me that the "campaign" work ( new fuel filler cap, reprogram of DME) could not be done as there was a back order on the part. I asked why the DME could not be reprogrammed but was told some nonsense that both had to be done at same time. So despite booking in for a service including the campaign work 3 weeks ago the car will have to go back again ( not best pleased). Told the dealership they could come and pick it up next time. The cost of the service inc brake fluid service was £500 inc VAT. The invoice says "Carry out minor service.Adblue check and top up part of service". Parts fitted - filter element, sealing ring, particle filter , 1 litre of Mobil 1 ( in boot ), window cleaner ( most of bottle in boot ) and 8 litres of engine oil, brake fluid. In addition to normal service work the dealership deactivated tracker to stop the yellow card/fob not present warning coming on at each start . up. Both front tyres still had 5.5 mm tread depth left, rears had 5.1 and 5.2mm left. My tyres are Michelin all seasons. Front and rear pads both at 6mm. Front discs at 33mm with minimum = 32mm. Rear discs at 21.6mm with minimum = 20mm. The technician noted that the air con low pressure valve cap was missing but as I have never even opened the bonnet in 2 years can only assume it was not fitted at factory. New part ordered as a warranty item. Car was returned washed and interior cleaned. Hope the above helps anyone due to have a first service. On a side note I liked the look of Rhodium silver and Volcano grey on two Macans in the showroom. Perhaps I should have taken delivery of a third Macan in volcano. Volcano grey seems to have a good amount of metallic flake which looked very good under the halogen showroom lights. Finally I was not impressed by the nearly new Cayenne diesel loan car I was given for the day. Steering feel was very vague and engine/transmission was not on par with my Macan which is more refined.

Interesting write-up! Sadly typical of any modern day industry (in my experience anyway) that booking timed appointments doesn't seem to mean much anymore, and that non-one takes the trouble to re-confirm that promised work can be carried out by checking parts acailability first
Interesting tyre (non) wear; it sounds as if your tyres should last up to 40K and almost even front to rear.
I had a Cayenne diesel last year for a couple of months when my GTS was delayed and I echo your feelings. A different type of car altogether; the Cayenne delivers the SUV ride and drive you'd expect wheras the Macan manages to overcome hint of SUV ness!

Depends on the type of driving, I suppose. Our last Golf had 78k miles and was still on the original back tyres as most of the driving was done on motorways with little cornering.
McCann has just passed 12k (since January - we're high milers) and the tyres still look very fresh.
