Good evening!

I've got about 1500 miles on my Macan (2.0 Base), and I've noticed an odd "click" sound and feeling when I press the brake pedal down about an inch. It's coming from the brake pedal itself, not from the wheels or the shifter.

I know there's a shift lock solenoid, which I can feel slightly when I told the shifter, but this is different. It's a clicking sound in the pedal mechanism itself. I can also feel it click in the part of my foot that touches the pedal.

Anyone else experience this? I'm hoping it's a DIY lubrication issue that I can handle myself. Dealership loves to tell me there are no fault codes and everything is within normal parameters when I go in for minor things like this...

No such noises on mine.

One inch is pretty much the maximum travel I can get with a very firm push. There's about half an inch of free travel then the rest is applying pressure in the master cylinder. But no clicking noises.

Not something as simple as the brake light switch?

Haven't noticed anything myself but will have a listen.

No click on mine, but does the click co-incide with the "hold" function light coming on? May be related?

Thanks for the responses. It doesn't seem to have to do with the "Hold" feature, and this click sound happens when the car is both on and off. My guess is that it's a spring down there that needs lubrication or something. I'll add it to the list of things to raise at the first service -- if I can stand waiting that long!

Whilst not the same issue as the OP is enquiring about I do find that if I give a short stab on my brakes they do make quite a noise.

Dear Redcat255,
I'm experiecing the *exact* same noise with the brake pedal on a second hand Macan that I'm considering to buy.

How did you fix it in the end? What is expensive?

Thank you.
