hi Guys

after 20k service with new oil the car was shed loads better, so now heading to 30k intending to get oil changed now and again at 40k service.

have quote from local Porsche garage £412, think it is a whole lot of money for £60 materials.

looking to see what anybody else has been paying?

£413 sounds a lot for an oil change - my OPC quoted me £430 for a full 2 yr service, not Inc £95 for the brake fluid but inc oil change!

My next service will be 30,000 and year four so a bigger service so should I assume this needs brake and oil fluids change, wondering if my specialist non OPC guy should do that as his labour charge is lot less, might also need brake pads too any idea how long on average they last, thanks

Welcome to the forum and welcome to Porsche prices for servicing. :D

If you search the forum for "oil Changes" you'll find debates on the pluses and minuses of changing oil more frequently than recommended. Porsche recommend 20k between oil changes and also recommend the use of Mobil !.

Long life oils (such as Mobil 1) have come a long way but it's up to you if you want to change oil more frequently. An oil and filter change makes up most of the cost of a minor (2yr) service which is why your OPC charges nearly as much for an oil change as for a service.

When you allow for the various contributions to our glorious leaders (VAT, PAYE, business rates etc) and business costs like running a building and financing stock they probably don't retain much profit.

If I were going to do a yearly oil change on an out of warranty car I would be looking at good independent Porsche specialist. I wouldn't be surprised to find the cost half what the OPC charges.

interesting feed back but no prices yet?

I agree the oils are very good, but the difference between changing every 10k is fantastic and will only help the turbo wear in the long run.

Maybe look at doing it yourself for just the £60 material cost? At the very most you'd need to also buy/borrow a torque wrench and an oil drain tray.

Failing that, here's some Porsche specialist costs. Although Macan isn't specifically listed, I can't see it being much different: https://www.porscheshop.co.uk/bcatalog/ ... nwards.pdf
