Just had my first service today - my Macan S Diesel has done 19,410 miles. The on board computer is now saying next oil change is at 10,600 miles?

The display mentions interim service (again?) at 20,000 01/2021 and the service in 20.600 miles / 03/2021.
Surely after the first service which included an oil change and brake fluid change this should be 20,000 or 2 years whichever is soonest?

If correct it means interim service at approx 20k miles, further oil change at 30K and the major service (and another oil change) at 40k.....
Am I missing something?

The car is a March 2017 and hence just under 2 years old.

Look forward to some guidance - Thanks in advance

I had a 2017 Panamera 4 (albeit a 3.0 V6 petrol) and that asked for an oil change after 10k miles, at only about 7 months old.

The intervals at which different Porsches ask for an oil change seem somewhat erratic. :?

I’d ring the service department tomorrow to query the situation, as maybe they haven’t reset things correctly?

Interesting - also noted I have had a DME software update - I very much hope it is not the dreaded one that causes DPF issues. To date I have never had an issue with the DPF.

I did query - they mentioned Porsche are now recommending 10k oil change s- doe snot sound right. Having done 20,000 until now seems peculiar to have the next one in 10k and then the full service again 10k miles down the road.

I will stick to Shell V Power (Diesel) for the next few months and stick in Sport mode........

Be interesting to hear if this new 'oil change' request moves out towards the service date, as you pile more miles on?

Suspect it's part of the dieselgate, software tweaking? Expect your AdBlue light to come on quicker than expected as well?

I had my first service last month and had something similar. After a few days the display reset itself to next oil change in 19k or so, keeping oil changes at about 20k.

I'd also like to know what it is!

When I had the first service on my SD (at two years and only about 11,000 miles) they reset the service interval to show that my next service would be a further 'interim'' service in another 2 years/20,000miles. I queried this and was told to simply follow what was in the service manual. (I think they mistakenly reset the service indicator as if I'd had a major service).

However, as with the OP, immediately after the service my car also said oil change in 10,000 miles. I've since driven about 9,000 miles and it now states oil change due in 10,500 miles.

Hence as SGDT stated, simply wait for it to settle down after a few more miles.

I am happier getting an annual oil change. I know modern oils are great but 2 years is just a bit long in my opinion.

Pity Porsche charge so much for an oil change :( :(
