Hello
I have a 65 Macan SD covered 15,000 Miles, ive definitely got the transfer box problem, hesitant in reverse and very notchy upto about 5 gear from standstill.
My problem is the car is out of warranty, it only had the standard 2 years and I did not extend it. Owned the car from new. is this something Porsche will do as the item is obviously not fit for the job and at such low mileage it seems crazy to have to stand the £2500 cost to replace.
As anyone got anywhere with this issue outside of the warranty??? Offered to replace for free etc
Your help would be much appreciated

As you bought from new I would be pressurising the supplying dealer using your consumer protection rights. The transfer box issues are well known.evomat1 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 9:53 am Hello

Have you tried the PDK reset procedure? Worth doing that if you haven't if only to rule that out.
Or has it already been diagnosed by an OPC? It would be worth asking for a good will gesture, which I believe others here have tried and succeeded.

The standard manufacturer's warranty is 3 years, not just 2 years, so you're just a few months out of it. Good luck negotiating a good will gesture or at least a contribution from Porsche AG (or UK).

Just as an aside, I fairly confident that a 65 plate (Sept 2015 on) would have have a 3 yr warranty? My 2015 SD, bought in July did.
You’re probably still out of warranty but only by a few months depending on date of reg (you could still be for a 2016 registered car for example up to 28th Feb!)
Worth a call to Porsche customer services ultimately but you’ll need a confirmed diagnosis first. But, as Mark says, you’ll need to speak to the supplying dealer and see what they say before going down that route.
Edit!
Crossed post and confirmation on warranty by Semerka!

The warranty changed from 2 to 3 years (along with a price increase) in Feb 15. It was discussed here:

There are other threads from people with Transfer Box problems out of warranty - eg: GeoffH had to pay £500 towards his replacement last August.
