Best advice:
1. Read the manual, as it covers both points.

My wife asked this question to the sale manager when we got our Macan recently and the answer was ..drive it as usual driving you do every day. Just easy on break pads in the first few miles.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

Personally, when spending what we do on a Porsche, Iโd rather follow the instructions written my Porsche engineers, rather than relying on a sales person in a car showroom, most of whom know less about the car than many of the forum members on here.Just macan wrote: โSun Apr 21, 2019 9:43 pm My wife asked this question to the sale manager when we got our Macan recently and the answer was ..drive it as usual driving you do every day. I was told use 98 Octane for at least 1 in 3 of your fill ups. I wasnt given any warnings about driving style, for new S or any previous cars including 2 boxster S..... I think so long as not doing anything ridiculous then it shouldn't matter. Didn't buy a new car to drive like Miss Daisy !
I should hope not, Miss Daisy crashed hers into her neighbours back yard

I'm a tyre man and you should run new tyres in gently to bed in properly for 100 miles. This will include no rapid acceleration or harsh. In a perfect world at 50 mph max too.
I will leave it to other more qualified contributors to talk about the mechanical side.

It's no use contacting the factory either. The markers on the tyres, which are put there by the tyre manufacturers, to show the fitters where to place them in relation to the valve. Aren't even correctly placed when a new car comes from them. All that engineering technology down the drain.SAC1 wrote: โMon Apr 22, 2019 9:54 am I'm a tyre man and you should run new tyres in gently to bed in properly for 100 miles.
