I found my old ipod nano (2nd generation I think) last night and thought I'd see if it would work in the Macan as it's got some great music on it. I connected it up using the USB but unfortunately the car couldn't read the USB. Strange because the Porsche badge came up on the ipod screen (which I was quite impressed with!) I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to gadgets and wondering if anyone knows how I could get it to work or is the ipod tech too old for the car?

Yes have the same problem, interestingly it worked perfectly in my last 2015 Macan S but won’t in my 2020 Macan Turbo. Did wonder if it was something related to the USB C ports on the car. Would be grateful to hear from anyone who has a solution.

As far as I'm aware newer Macans (mine is 20-reg) lose iPod compatibility, but you do have Apple Car Play.

This information from Porsche may help:

It doesn't really help (other than explain) but the incompatibility is also discussed here: https://www.macanforum.com/threads/trou ... -c.174389/

Thanks for that link. Looks like I'll just have to transfer the music to a usb stick.

After reading this thread and out of curiosity I dug out an old (that is 2009 old!) iPod Classic 500gb and plugged it into my 2017 Macan S via usb. Porsche badge comes up and it all works first time, is searchable and with music files and folders structured as they should be.

Handy that :)

How do you do that if it doesn't recognize the usb connection?

I had this (got an old U2 Special Edition iPod) and the only way I could resolve was via iTunes and a Memory Stick.
